From 2017 until the end of 2020, we were able to use our mobile phones in Europe freely, within the limitations of the tariff that the device was on. But, since Brexit and the UKs extraction from the EU these charges have come back.
Here’s the Phoenix Maxwell guide to roaming in 2022.
VODAFONE:
If you’re still on the same tariff you were before 11th August 2011 then there’s no change to how your mobile roaming works.
If you’ve joined Vodafone or upgraded or changed your plan since then, then roaming charges will apply.
Depending on where you go in the world, will depend on what charges apply, £1 + per day roaming charge and then call fees on top.
EE:
Customers with EE will be charged a £2 per day roaming charge to use their phones with call charges applying. If you want to use your tariff allowance in 47 European destinations, it is possible to buy a tariff bolt-ons for 30 day passes to be able to use your tariff minutes and data while abroad.
THREE:
A £2 per day charge will be applied for European roaming, within that you’ll be able to use your tariff allowances. They’ve also increased roaming charges for the rest of the world of £5 per day.
O2:
Inside Europe O2 have kept their roaming free of charge, so that you can use your existing tariff allowance. Outside Europe there’s a £6 per day charge on using your phone, you can buy bolt-ons if you don’t want to worry about these charges while you’re away.
That’s it in a nutshell, but if you’d like to run through the specific charges for where you’re going and for how long then please just drop us a line, we’ll be happy to help talk you through it. We don’t want you to end up with a big, unexpected bill when you’re home.
